Dear Lord,

I sit here in silence and think about your call… I know you call people in different ways and at different times.

You said to the prophet Isaiah, “Who will go for me and who shall I send?”

Isaiah responded, “Here I am, send me!”

I wish I could say that with all my heart, but I am scared.

You called Jeremiah to be a prophet, but he told you he was too young. That is how I feel.

I am too young to know. But then I think what you said to Jeremiah... You told him not to worry, that you would place your word in his mouth. I know I have to trust that you will do the same for me.

In the Gospels, your Son called Andrew and Peter, and they dropped everything and followed him. They must have known Jesus before his invitation. Help me to know your Son, and help me to be quiet so that he can speak to my heart and mind.

Lord, from the people of the Bible to the people in this film, I know you have called and will continue to call your people.

Help to quiet me, that I might listen. Help to open my heart, that I might love.  Give me the faith to respond.
